Join me for a women’s cycle training camp
I’m really excited about attending a women’s training camp in October to be held over four days and three nights in one of my favourite country towns of Bathurst, NSW.
I hold a little soft spot for Bathurst because it’s where I attended three years of Uni to study communication back in the 80s. Wonderful town and I’m really looking forward to returning there in October.
Cycle coach Donna Meehan and a group of female coaches have got together to organise a four day training camp to be held from Friday, 26 to Monday, 29 October 2012, aimed at women who are interested in racing and recreational cycling.
I’m going along for a number of reasons. Firstly, I’m keen to support this great initiative but I’m also eager to improve my cycling skills for both racing and social rides. I’m also pleased that I’ll be sharing the four days with a group of like-minded women. I feel a few blog posts coming on. Plus, I think it’s a complete bargain at just $460 which includes accommodation, all meals, all coaching and race entry. You just have to get yourself to Bathurst and it’s an easy two and a half hour drive from most parts of Sydney.
Running the camp will be Donna Meehan and three other accredited female coaches. They will be backed up by support personnel like bike mechanics and support vehicles & riders for each ride bunch (maximum 10 riders per bunch with two support riders).
The camp will feature evening presentations on topics such as nutrition, watt bikes, stretching, training for your next event, gym workouts and lots more.
If you want to know more then follow this link to Donna’s website where you’ll see all the details and the registration information. You need to pay a deposit of $150 to hold your place and then the balance of $310 on 28 September.
I look forward to meet you there.
